To-go cocktails may soon become a permanent fixture in Vermont following a legislative push that has gained momentum since their introduction during the pandemic. Initially created to support struggling businesses, this option has been extended multiple times. A new bill is now headed to Governor Phil Scott’s office that seeks to eliminate the temporary nature of to-go cocktails, allowing them to be offered permanently.
Currently, 29 states have adopted similar laws, reflecting a growing trend in the U.S. that recognizes the role of such measures in bolstering local economies. If the bill is signed into law, it would mark a significant shift in Vermont’s alcohol regulations, making it easier for residents to enjoy cocktails from the comfort of their homes.
