In a significant move to enhance tourism between India and Singapore, IndiGo Airlines has partnered with the Singapore Tourism Board (STB). This collaboration, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in July 2025, marks the first alliance between an Indian airline and STB, coinciding with the celebration of 60 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The partnership aims to promote Singapore as a top leisure and business destination for Indian travelers, with a focus on boosting bookings through IndiGo’s extensive flight network. Indians represented over half a million visitors in the first half of 2025, making India a crucial market for Singapore, which consistently ranks among the top three source countries for its inbound tourism.
As part of the initiative, IndiGo and STB plan to launch a comprehensive marketing campaign that includes both trade and consumer-facing activities. This follows the success of the previous "Untold Singapore" campaign. The new promotional efforts will leverage digital channels, influencer marketing, co-branded travel packages, and various training and familiarization trips to engage the travel trade.
A noteworthy feature of this collaboration is the introduction of IndiGo Stretch, a new premium offering by the airline. Set to launch on Singapore’s National Day, August 9, this service will first be available on the Delhi-Singapore and Mumbai-Singapore routes. The IndiGo Stretch tier promises a business-class-like experience with a 2-2 seating layout, offering greater legroom and priority services among other amenities, marking a significant upgrade for the low-cost airline’s international offerings.
Both parties will also adopt a data-driven approach to better tailor their offerings to different segments of the Indian market, with an emphasis on the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) sector.
Currently, Changi Airport provides robust connectivity to India, offering more than 270 weekly flights from 15 cities. IndiGo serves nine of these cities, and this new initiative could significantly ease travel for both leisure and business customers aiming to visit Singapore.
