A pair of food influencers, Patrick Blackwood and Nina Santiago, experienced a frightening incident while recording a review at CuVee’s Culinary Creations in Houston. During the shoot, a car unexpectedly rolled into the side of the building, shattering the glass window near their booth. The shocking moment was captured on video, showing Blackwood covered in glass and Santiago falling out of the booth.
The driver, a woman, reported to authorities that she believed she had put the car in park; however, it rolled forward when she released the brake, leading to the collision. Thankfully, both influencers and the restaurant staff were not severely injured. CuVee’s Culinary Creations later confirmed it had reopened for business while assessing the damage.
In the aftermath, Blackwood and Santiago shared their ordeal on their YouTube channel, Unrated EX Files. In the video, they showed clips from their time in the ambulance to the hospital, where they both received treatment for their injuries. Blackwood recounted, "I was not expecting this bulls— right here. But, um, I’m glad I’m alive." Santiago expressed similar sentiments, mentioning this was the second accident they had faced in the month and how they were grateful to have walked away from both.
In an effort to confront her trauma, Santiago returned to the restaurant shortly after the incident to enjoy the food, stating that she wanted to address her post-traumatic stress sooner rather than later. They shared images of their injuries on social media, highlighting their resilience and perspective gained from the experience. "This experience showed me who truly matters; life’s too short for grudges or anger," she reflected, urging others to cherish their lives and relationships.
