The District’s Winter Restaurant Week, organized by the Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington, took place from January 27 to February 2, providing an array of dining options at discounted prices. Over 100 restaurants participated, presenting multi-course meals with lunch priced as low as $25 and dinner starting at $40.
Among the establishments featured, Cuba Libre stood out with a vibrant atmosphere that transported diners to the Caribbean, offering a three-course dinner for $40. Diners began with chicken empanadas and black bean soup, complemented by complimentary pressed Cuban bread spread with cinnamon butter. The entrées included pollo asado and masitas de puerco fritas, each paired with exceptional sides like roasted garlic mashed potatoes. Despite being filled from the main course, dessert was irresistible — a tres leches cake topped with semi-sweet mocha mousse provided a delightful conclusion without overwhelming the palate.
Other notable participants included Filomena Ristorante in Georgetown, offering Italian cuisine with lunch priced at $35 and dinners at $65. For those seeking different flavors, Jinya Ramen Bar provided delicious Japanese dishes, while Tamashaa offered a range of Indian delicacies.
Closer to American University, diners could enjoy various dishes at Rosemary Bistro Cafe, which features options like grilled octopus and beef bourguignon. Additionally, Beth’s in Bethesda extended its restaurant week until February 9, offering a classic American three-course dinner for $40.
With another Restaurant Week slated for August, this event provides a great opportunity for food enthusiasts to explore diverse cuisines throughout the city while enjoying significant savings.
