A bagel and coffee paradise in the heart of Châtelain.
Rue Armand Campenhout 62
What’s good? Discover your new go-to brunch destination at Holy Bagels. This charming spot offers a wide selection of tasty bagel options. Enjoy classic choices such as the Kevin, featuring bacon, egg, and cheese topped with fresh coriander; or try the Nina, packed with flavors of cream cheese, chicken, grilled onions, and avocado.
For those mornings when you desire something sweet, the homemade pancakes at Holy Bagels are an excellent choice, accompanied by seasonal fruits. Don’t miss out on the Lost Bagel — a creative take on French Toast using a bagel, finished with pear compote, sea salt caramel, and a speculoos almond crumble.
Coffee is a cornerstone at Holy Bagels. In addition to the classics, they offer a range of uniquely spiced lattes, each crafted from beans sourced from Cameroon.
What’s not? Due to Holy Bagel’s rising popularity, make sure to arrive early on weekends to beat the brunch crowd.
Vibe: A modern, cozy café with charming décor and a bustling kitchen. When the sun is shining, vitamin D-deprived customers eagerly vie for a spot on the terrace.
Who’s picking up the check? Bagels are priced at €12, pancakes at €14 and specialty lattes at €5.
Spotted: This place is as beloved as a local football team, with a dedicated following including regulars and sometimes local stars like Angèle and Stromae.
Insider tip: If you’re interested in making bagels at home, you can buy them fresh here. Be sure to explore the daily specials as well.
Fun fact: Holy Bagels was created by a spirited couple, Jacques and Melodie. Jacques, who hails from Cameroon, teamed up with Melodie, an American disheartened by the subpar bagel scene in their city. Their small business began with selling homemade bagels and coffee from a bicycle, growing popular enough to evolve into a full-fledged cafe, and later expanding even further. Jacques brings a personal narrative into their business as well – he grew up on a coffee farm in Cameroon, and now, he imports coffee beans from there, ensuring the coffee is as unique and delightful as their bagels.
How to get there: Just one block from Place du Châtelain, head up Rue Armand Campenhout and you’ll see it at the corner.
