Milwaukee’s original painting bar, Splash Studio, is making a return after a brief hiatus, this time within The New Fashioned located in the Deer District. The grand opening is set for Saturday, February 1, 2025.
Splash Studio first opened its doors 13 years ago, providing a unique "sip and paint" experience. Molly Snyder recalls her initial visit to the studio in the Third Ward, where she discovered the joy of painting, regardless of her artistic abilities. The essence of this experience was not just about the skill but rather the fun and connection it fostered.
The new location promises an elevated experience for both seasoned artists and newcomers. Guests can enjoy a themed craft cocktail menu alongside a food selection that highlights local Wisconsin flavors. Each painting session will feature an instructor to guide participants creatively.
During the launch event, guests will paint The Hoan Bridge, and come Valentine’s Day weekend, the studio is set to offer special couples’ painting sessions that include sparkling wine and chocolate-covered strawberries, alongside popular themes like "Trunks" and "Bird’s Eye View."
In addition to painting, Splash Studio patrons can also indulge in HyperBowling, dartball, and deck curling, as well as access Milwaukee’s largest self-pour tap wall.
David Poytinger, Chief Innovation Officer at Bars & Recreation, expressed the vision behind this return: "Since it first opened in 2012, Splash Studio has always been about creativity and connection. Now at The New Fashioned, we’re bringing this classic experience to the heart of Downtown Milwaukee."
