The restaurant owned by C.J. Gardner Johnson’s mom has found itself in a heated dispute sparked by a conflict between the Eagles safety and Chiefs player Travis Kelce. Following the Super Bowl, Gardner Johnson took to social media to troll Kelce, referencing his relationship with Taylor Swift and his past girlfriend, Kayla Nicole. His post, which included a photo from the Super Bowl field, stated, “Should’ve Stayed w that thick s***,” aimed at Kelce’s ex.
In retaliation, fans of both Swift and Kelce inundated the Yelp page for Gardner Johnson’s mother’s restaurant, Kings Grill, leaving numerous negative reviews. The influx of negative comments prompted a “Unusual Activity Alert” on the restaurant’s Yelp account, and the reviews were subsequently disabled. Reports indicated that even Google had removed recent reviews from the restaurant’s search results.
Despite the uproar, neither Gardner Johnson nor Kelce has publicly addressed the situation. Gardner Johnson’s parents, however, told TMZ that they are unfazed by the online backlash. Interestingly, they pointed out that Kings Grill has been closed since January, diminishing the impact of the review storm.
Meanwhile, Kayla Nicole showed her support for the Eagles at the Super Bowl, engaging with the Eagles head coach and celebrating their victory on the field. She previously expressed excitement about the game’s significance, acknowledging the Chiefs’ potential for a historic third consecutive Super Bowl win.
