Appleās subscription news service is set to broaden its offerings with the introduction of Apple News+ Food. This feature, which will roll out with the upcoming iOS 18.4, is expected to present a curated selection of tens of thousands of recipes. The announcement comes as the iOS 18.4 developer beta has just been launched.
Apple News+ Food is developed in collaboration with notable publishers like Good Food and Allrecipes. In this feature, users will be able to access recipes in a unique Cook mode. Upon selecting a recipe, users can view the instructions full screen, similar to how lyrics are displayed in the Apple Music app. This mode facilitates easy navigation between the ingredients and directions.
While Apple News+ Food is built into the News+ subscription model, some selected articles and recipes will also be available for non-subscribers. The full release of this feature is expected in April 2025. Currently, it is accessible to users in at least the US and UK, although Apple has yet to confirm its availability in all regions covered by Apple News+.
This new addition continues the evolution of Apple News+, which was launched in 2019, initially integrating various publications and articles alongside premium content.
