Rosewood Bermuda has launched The Juniper Initiative, aimed at promoting conservation efforts through the sale of unique cocktails. This initiative highlights gin, a spirit with historical ties to Bermuda, alongside the critically endangered Bermuda Cedar tree, the island’s national tree.
As part of this initiative, the resort’s restaurants and bars offer the "Juniper & Tonic" cocktail, with $1.00 from each drink sold going toward conservation efforts. The funds raised will help plant Bermuda Cedar trees, and for every $200 collected, one tree will be planted and digitally mapped for transparency.
The Conservatory Bar & Lounge at Rosewood Bermuda supports this initiative through its "Cocktails for Conservation" program, featuring over 40 gins from around the globe. Guests can enjoy the well-crafted J&T cocktail, which blends tart lime and ginger gin with smooth melon liqueur, or opt for the non-alcoholic Green Garden Cooler, both contributing to the fundraising efforts.
By collaborating with the Bermuda National Trust, the Juniper Initiative embodies a commitment to sustainability, allowing guests to enjoy drinks while contributing to meaningful environmental stewardship. As Andrew Archibald, managing director of Rosewood Bermuda, states, the initiative is rooted in a vision of place, culture, and taste, ensuring a greener, more sustainable Bermuda for future generations.
