The Charlotte Business Journal has released its latest review of health code inspections for food establishments operating in Mecklenburg County. This review covers inspections conducted in February, with a focus on establishments that received either a “B” or “C” grade. The data, collected on March 7 from the North Carolina Public Health Inspections database, includes various types of food vendors such as restaurants, food stands, and mobile operators.
In total, 1,080 establishments were inspected last month, with 14 scoring below a 90. Notably, scores indicated that any establishment scoring below a 70 faces immediate permit revocation according to state law. The weakest score recorded during the inspections was 75, reflecting the performance of a South End steakhouse and an uptown Thai restaurant among others.
For those restaurants that received a “B” or “C” grade and have since been reinspected, the updated grades are available in the summary list provided by the Charlotte Business Journal.
