A Sydney restaurant recently found itself in hot water after a customer claimed to have discovered a dead rat in her meal. The incident occurred at Tatsuya West Ryde while the woman was dining on a katsu don set. In a shocking review posted online, she detailed the appalling experience, stating that she had already eaten half of her side salad when the grim discovery was made.
Her review, submitted under the name DO, captured the attention of many. "Just absolutely revolting and unacceptable," she stated. She also mentioned that everyone at the table left the restaurant in disgust upon seeing the rat.
The woman’s friend, who left a one-star review as well, supported the claim, expressing disbelief at the experience. "My pregnant friend and I were having their lunch set today, and in her small salad was a disgusting feral dead rat," wrote the friend.
Daniel Kim, DO’s husband, corroborated the account, stating, "My wife’s salad had a rat in it. Absolutely disgusting." The restaurant responded to the negative reviews by issuing a public apology, stating that they are investigating the matter, specifically looking into a salad box delivered from their supplier.
The restaurant’s owner assured customers that they are taking necessary steps to prevent such incidents in the future and expressed gratitude for the understanding of all affected patrons. Meanwhile, they also noted that online reviews reflect personal opinions and may not represent verified facts.
